Let's get started!
This lesson is all about choosing a notebook.
Now, if you've already got a notebook picked out, awesome! You are ahead of the game. Don't second guess yourself and go with your gut instinct.
For everyone else:
I recommend using (or at least starting out with) a passport-sized travelers notebook. These notebooks are about 3.5" x 5.5" and can be found in art stores, stationery stores, and online. I generally use the Field Notes brand, but that’s my personal preference, any notebook you have will be great.
Passport size traveler's notebooks are made by a variety of manufacturers and come with different cover options, inside page styles, number of pages, etc. The smaller page size in these books helps you to finish pages quickly and create an accessible habit.
When picking your book, don't worry about picking the perfect notebook.
Daily Pages isn't about perfection.
It's about working with what you've got.
So if you've got a notebook that you can start using ASAP- that's probably the right one.
A few things I've learned about Daily pages notebooks over the years:
I like notebooks with smaller page sizes because they take less time to complete.
I like notebooks with a fixed amount of pages (less than 50) because finishing a notebook still gives me a huge endorphin boost.
I prefer blank or dot grid pages (as opposed to lined pages). It just works with my brain and the way that I like to create.
