Daily Pages 11/30/23: Every (faux) Stitch Counts
Playing with scraps & having fun on the last day in November!
Behind the Page
This was a fun page to create. I started out with no real idea of what I wanted to do, which led me to pulling out my scraps of paper and using a square 2” punch to create this patchwork quilt style page.
Technique of the Day
Punching out scraps of paper. Such a great way to use up your stash. I vaguely picked some patterns that went together, and some that I just liked on the page. There were a few extras that I punched out that I wound up not using. It’s a classic trial and error design.
Reflections & Insights
These are some of the easiest pages to make (even if they might take more than 5 minutes). Which is really great for me on a headache day, like today. Once I decide what I’m going to do (cut squares, glue squares, add fake stitch lines). Then it’s just letting my body do the work to make it happen.
Tips & Creative Wisdom
This is a great way to use up both patterned paper scraps and handmade papers that you’ve got on hand. Really any type of paper will work as long as it goes through your punch (or you feel like cutting it out by hand).
