Daily Pages 11/29/23: DIY Stained Glass Look
Alcohol Ink + Garbage = Amazing!
Behind the Page
So, I broke my big die cutting machine trying to make this page. You can’t really tell because there’s nothing on the page that looks like it was done with a die cutting machine (because it wasn’t — I broke the machine right in the middle of trying to make a die cut. So instead I used a circle punch and my black cardstock. It worked just as well.
Technique of the Day
Alcohol ink markers on plastic packaging; it couldn’t be more simple.
So cool. It dries immediately and creates these really cool stained glass effect. I saw this technique at the Ali Edwards December Daily prep party and I knew I wanted to replicate it with what I already had at home.
Reflections & Insights
I need a new die cut machine :/ — Jeff took the whole thing apart and got my die back (and the paper that was stuck in there) and put the whole thing back together. But after we put it all back together the crank wouldn’t crank the plates with the die in there. Sad.
Tips & Creative Wisdom
Don’t try to push things through your die cut machine if it’s fighting you. I learned this the hard way today, and you don’t have to follow my lead lol.
