Daily Pages 11/21/23: The Joy of Cutting Paper
How to take a quote card and turn it into a full page spread.
Behind the Page
I’m so ready for Thanksgiving break (school nerd). I really wanted to create something that was minimally taxing on my brain. I flipped through the products from my latest Ali Edwards’ Story Kit that arrived over the weekend and found this great 4x6 quote card that I thought would look great cut up all ransom-note style.
I didn’t do the greatest job of spacing my lines, but there were eight lines of text to get on my page, so I wasn’t looking for perfection — just getting it done.
Reflections & Insights
Sometimes you just need a day where you cut up paper and glue it back down again. This is one of the reasons that Daily Pages is such a great way to practice your creative habit. Some days you feel like stamping in 10 different colors, or creating interactive bits, and then there are other days where you just want to practice cutting up paper.
Give in to what your creative heart is telling you. Go where it pulls you.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
I flipped through my 6x8 patterned paper to find a background paper for this page. Not all 6x8 papers are great for Daily Pages since you generally need to rotate them 90 degrees from the way they were designed to be used (horizontal instead of vertical). I wanted something that was like cardstock (mostly color) but had a bit of movement to it. This sheet of paper from 49+ Market was exactly what I was looking for.
