Daily Pages 04/02/24: It *finally* dried
Got to play with my stamped gel prints today! Details inside.
Behind the Page
Ever get frustrated that you can’t play with some things immediately? That’s how I was feeling last week when I did some stamping on my latest gel prints, and then they took *forever* to dry. I kept lightly touching the stamped print all day, just to forget about it overnight. I found it again this morning and I finally got to play around with these hexagons that I wanted to use last week. It’s a great feeling.
Technique of the Day
For these hexagons, I stamped using some Versafine Onyx onto some gel prints. I originally thought it would dry quick enough for me to use in that day’s Daily Page, but I was definitely wrong and it needed at least another 24 hours to dry.
That being said, the print was perfectly dry today, and I was excited to finally be able to cut these out and stick them down on the page. The cool thing about gel prints (learn more during our masterclass on Saturday at Noon — details below) is that you’re going to get unique images every time. Each page gives you a great mix of colors and shapes.
I wanted to take it one step further and cut out some shapes from these prints and arrange them on the page, highlighting their subtle differences. You could definitely cut out shapes without stamping first, and then you’d not have to wait for it to dry again. I really like the look of the black ink around the outside, so that’s a personal preference.
Additionally, you can use the permanent StazOn Ink if you like the look and don’t want to wait for the drying time. When using StazOn, I recommend having a StazOn re-inker on hand, I like to keep my ink pad juicy by re-inking each time I pull out the ink pad.
Reflections & Insights
I need more quote stamps. I’ve been loving using quotes on my pages lately, and I would love a few more stamped quotes that I can use in my Daily Pages. I’ve got a few good ones from the Ali Edwards Story stamps, but I was wondering what your favorites are. Drop me a link in the comments or hit reply on this email and let me know the quote sets you love the most.
