Behind the Page

It’s snowing outside. For the third day in a row. I’m so not here for it. I’m ready for spring. I want flowers, butterflies, and to spend time outside! Today’s page was all about wanting the warmer weather to get here.

Technique of the Day

The shape of long thin clear stamps can be easily manipulated. On today’s page, I used a stamp that was originally curved on a 90 degree angle.

To make it work better for my page, I put the clear stamp on my block and then pulled the edges to widen the angle to fit around the sticker. You can do this with any long clear stamp that you’ve got in your stash.

Reflections & Insights

I really liked this sheet of patterned paper, but I needed it to have a little bit more going on to work with my page. So, I decided to grab a stamp set by the same artist, and use one of the little stamps to give my background a little more interest. Light colored inks work really well — I picked my lightest gray for this page.
