Behind the Page

I’m about 96% done with my Scotland travel album from my trip last fall. I’ve got all the pictures on the pages, all the pages in the album, I’ve just got to finish up some journaling, and I’ll be 100% finished with it and ready to share.

This means, I’ve got some extra printed photos that I thought would make it into the album, but actually got cut at the last minute. Daily Pages is the perfect place for these leftover photos. We hit up this castle on our way back down from the Isle of Skye and it was a great little place to stop and take photos. I haven’t been able to mention that in my Scotland album, and this was the perfect place to just jot that down.

Technique of the Day

I created this simple washi background with a total of 9 different blue or green washi tapes. I stack them up in the order I think looks best, and then stretch them across the page one by one. This is a great way to make your own backgrounds with whatever colors you want. You can get great solid color washi tape in lots of places, I’ve had the best luck on Amazon.

Reflections & Insights

After we got back to the US, I spent a few days at home in North Jersey. One afternoon we hit up Daiso and I got these really great tapes — they’re most like post-its? I love that I can write on them with any pen and they come in great colors. If you’ve got a Daiso near you — or you’ll be at one on holiday, definitely check it out!
