Daily Pages 02/16/24: Mixing Paint and Journaling Cards
Playing with paint on a Friday
Behind the Page
While looking around the studio this morning, I saw my gelli plate from earlier in the week, still with a little bit of blue paint on it. First thing I did when I started today’s page was to put down some white paint on top of the leftover blue paint still on the plate. I let it dry for a couple of minutes and then pulled it off to start the background of this page.
Technique of the Day
I added some black paint through a + sign stencil that I’ve had in my stash forever. I had much better results when I dabbed the paint through the stencil rather than brushing it on.
Reflections & Insights
I’ve been in a paint mood for the past week or so, I think I’m going to take some time tonight during the FSS Hangout call and work on some gelli prints. My stash is running low, and it seems like a great time to break out the paints and have a little fun.
