Daily Pages 02/13/24: Creating Space to Journal
Using stamps to make simple journaling even more accessible
Behind the Page
I wasn’t feeling great this morning, so I knew I wanted to fall back on something easy for today’s page. And for me, that means an easy repeating stamped background. I like the calming meditative actions of inking up the stamp, pressing it down on the paper, inking up the stamp again, finding another empty space on the paper, and so forth. It’s a great way for me to spend time in my notebook without exerting too much mental energy.
Technique of the Day
I pulled out a stamp set (mostly because I want to use the heart stamp tomorrow) and grabbed this fun speech bubble to repeat in the background. I added some tiny journaling stamps to give myself a place to write. I set up this whole background just so that I’d have a few small places to write a few things down.
Reflections & Insights
Some of these colors showed up better than others on this light orange cardstock (nectar from Concord + 9th). This is another great reason to play around with stamps and inks in your notebook — it helps you to see which ink colors and paper colors (or whatever supplies your using) go together, and which ones might be better off paired with something else.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
Think about the things that come easy to you when you create. That’s what repeating stamped backgrounds are for me. What are the things that you like to do, and don’t really have to put that much thought or effort into the execution? Those are great things to keep in mind to do when you’re having a harder-than-usual day.
