Daily Pages 01/11/24: Cleaning Out the Shelves
And finding really cool things to create with.
Behind the Page
Sometimes, the coolest art comes from garbage. I was rummaging through a box filled with random papers, bits, stickers, and whatever didn’t have a home last time I cleaned out my studio. Most of it is headed for the recycling bin, but I did find these cool strips of vellum I created over the summer when I made a page filled with vellum circles. This was the leftover bit, and honestly — they were just too pretty and fun to throw away.
Technique of the Day
Any time that I use vellum, I work with the scrapbook.com roll adhesive. It shows absolutely zero lines, and it’s great when you’re cutting things into shapes that don’t work well with a standard tape runner. Start out with the 2” roll and if you find that it would be really useful to get a wider roll, they have those as well.
Tips & Creative Wisdom
I wanted to put a little something in a few of the holes to generate some more visual interest. I grabbed a little heart stamp and added hearts in a few of the alternating spaces.
