Daily Pages 01/04/24: Stenciling Thursday3
A polaroid selfie + a stenciled background paper
Behind the Page
Today was the rare day that I get my Thursday3 photo in before my Daily Pages Livestream at Noon. Usually, I’m not in any mood to take a picture in the morning. I am not a morning person at all.
I plugged in my portable printer (it hadn’t charged in a week or two) and then quickly printed this picture out and trimmed it to look like a polaroid.
Technique of the Day
Today, I grabbed one of the Ali Edwards December Daily stencils that I didn’t use much during December (I’m honestly surprised — I think I was just storing them in the wrong spot) and I used it on a sheet of yellow cardstock.
Reflections & Insights
I experimented with the ink colors before settling on this grey ink from Paper/Person (discontinued). I didn’t have any shades of yellow that worked, and I didn’t want to add any other specific colors to the background. So I settled for this grey (one of my favorite color combos) and I’m happy with the way it turned out.
Tips & Creative Wisdom
I like to use these weird things from Amazon for most of my ink blending. They’re so much cheaper than anything you can get at the craft stores, and I think they work much better than makeup sponges.
