Cutting Through the Chaos
Finding calm in precision cutting and adding personal touches to make it *mine*.
Behind the Page
When it rains, it pours, right? I’m sure you’re all sick of complaining about my health stuff this week, but to finish up the week we’re getting a nice little snowstorm. And for those of you who have been around long enough, you know that weather patterns are my worst enemy.
So, it’s been a week. So, it was all about fun and play today. I picked out something on my desk, cut it out, and added a few doodles and some words about what’s going on right now (a lot of Fourth Wing). And I absolutely love it.
Technique of the Day
When my head hurts, I love spending time precision cutting. I can focus in all my creative energy on cutting around the lines. It’s very kindergarten, and the exact thing I need when I’m having a pain day.
With the art print I used today, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to cut around those thin lines, so I decided to just recreate them using my pen. I love the final outcome, even if Brandi does draw prettier lines than I do.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
Add Simple Words to Anchor the Page
Pair your cut-outs with a few words or phrases (stamp, sticker, or handwritten) about your current moment. Whether it’s a book you’re loving or a thought you’re processing, adding text gives your page depth without requiring too much extra effort. This is one of the easiest ways to add more you into your notebook.
Pro Tip: Use a label or write directly on the page to keep things quick and clean.
