Behind the Page

How can the Olympics be over? I was having the best time waking up in the morning, coming out to my couch and flipping on the Gold Zone. There were so many really cool sports that I never would have thought to watch otherwise — women’s rugby, sport climbing, skateboarding, and so many others.

It was definitely the best at home spectator experience I’ve ever had with the Olympic Games (the Beijing games were amazing story-wise) and I can’t wait for LA 2028.

Technique of the Day

On Friday, I grabbed this stamp to play with. I was going to use it on one of my new gel prints. But I couldn’t find my Staz-On permanent ink, and thought I would smudge the heck out of it (which I totally would have).

Over the weekend, I was cleaning up my living room and found my ink in a very stupid place — like just, why did I put it on the shelf under the table? What person was I when I made that decision? So, I grabbed it and put it in the middle of my desk, so that I would remember to use it for today’s page.

Since Monday is always a Currently List, I used the stamp to create little frames for each of my currentlys.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

I’m excited for the transition into fall — the changing of the seasons always has an interesting effect on my art. What are some of the things that come up for you when you’re in transition?

For me — number one is always how the routine is going to change. We’ll chat more about that throughout the next few weeks as we move into September and the end of the year. <3 <3
