Today’s Color

Behind the Page

With the heat the way it’s been — there has been a lot of extra TV time this past week. I saw this cute light blue TV die cut and decided that would be the theme of today’s page. I’m doing a bunch of rewatching right now — Game of Thrones specifically. I’m also watching House MD and Scandal, both of which I watched over-the-air but didn’t finish. So now I’m into new-to-me episodes for both shows.

Also — Acapulco is one of the sweetest shows that has been on in years. It’s kind, funny, and absolutely beautifully styled. If you’re not on that already, put it on your list.

Technique of the Day

Number stickers are a great way to create a quick list. If you don’t have number stickers — stamps, markers, or just a regular old pen work perfectly too!

Reflections & Insights

I hope you’re all having a great weekend. The heat is finally going to break tomorrow and I’ll be able to spend a lot more time in my studio. Hopefully it’ll cool off where you’re at as well! <3

Tips & Creative Wisdom

When your book starts to get thicker, your inside pages are gonna start getting more narrow as you get to the back of the book.

For me, in the Field Notes notebooks, I start out with pages that are 3.5” wide. By the time I get to the back half of the book, I’m usually down to about 3.25” wide

Obviously, your measurements will depend on the book you’re using.
