Behind the Page

Sometimes, it’s just a ‘play with stuff’ kind of day. Especially after a long week of headaches, with a few more headache days coming up.

side note — it’s so hard to talk about my headaches without an insane amount of backstory, but that’s so not what these emails are about, so if you’re new, here’s more about my headache journey (from a while ago).

So today, I just pulled some papers I had on my desk already, grabbed my Currently List journaling card, and some gold paint. I put too much gold paint on the edge of my Currently card (my hand slipped—oops), but it’s totally fine, I love the way the gold looks with the purples and blues.

Technique of the Day

Summer produce is amazing right now. We have had the best meals over the last few days. Excellent stuff at the farmers’ market. Fresh, local, organic ingredients for homemade dinners are one of the best ways to keep my headaches as chill as possible, especially during flair ups like right now.

Also — audiobooks are my bff right now. When the lights are hurting and all I can do is lay down and chill, listening to an audiobook has been my lifeline.

Reflections & Insights

I’m gonna have a few more bad headache days ahead of me, so I’m going to give myself some grace and take things a little easy for the next few days. This way, when we’ve got an awesome weekend with consistent temps in the low 70s, I can really take advantage of it.

Keepin’ It Cool

Behind the Page The weather sucks. It’s crazy hot, and we’ve got the remnants of the hurricane hammering down on us. My head is killing me, and I’m so ready for this storm to be gone. Technique of the Day I used my new paint pens (Sharpie Creative Marker) to create some journaling lines on these magazine pages I pulled from an old Flow magazine. I thought the penguins had the right idea.

Just. One. More. Chapter.

Behind the Page I have no original thoughts this week. Headaches will do that to you. So when I’m feeling extra headache-y, I just rely on whatever has been repeatedly going on in my life at the moment. And the only thing that I’ve been super into the past few weeks is this Fourth Wing series, so I picked out a tiny detail (late nights) and used that for today’s page.
