Omg yes please doooo it. And may I be as bold as to say, can I play interviewer? It would awesome to a) hear you both again but b) remove the pressure of you having to think of the questions /reduce the mental load and c) a fan girl moment for me hehe.
My Small (who was conceived after I joined ALP in 2020), IS NOW STARTING PRIMARY SCHOOL on Monday, so I feel (completely unqualified but) compelled to call him an OG Daily Pages baby...I would really love to be part of a roundtable of the different stages of how one squished creativity in the pockets of newborn, early years, little bit older toddler, how balancing time, energy and if it isn't bottle washing, it's picking up after the enveloping stage, or the tornado stage...all the things that take up some of those creativity pockets etc, with the complete and utter honesty of it looking different for everyone and there being no wrong way... Daily pages minimalism style, for the stage of life when it's really really hard to align the energy and the time!
I've gone off piste, but +100 to a special bonus episode (without my wittering/crashing the party, no offence will be taken, but happy to help if exciting! :))
I love this and it is spot-on. I didn’t create for many years after I had Madi because I couldn’t do it “right.” So silly, and a disservice to both of us. Adapting your creativity to your updated life now will set the stage for adapting through all of the different stages and changes, and there are many to come!!
Also I can’t wait to talk to you about Furious, and our food experiences in Quebec!!!

Man I resonated with this so much! I quit physical scrapbooking altogether and switched to digital just to try and go back to it recently. As soon as I started getting into a groove with having my stuff organized, my sister and baby niece (4 months old) moved into the space that was my creative space and now it’s all in boxes in the garage.
I definitely think I need to just give in to some type of creating somehow (i.e. digital) just to be making something. Plus I can do it on the go on the train which is a huge bonus.
Kelly! That's an amazing idea, especially if you're low on crafty space! And the train seems like such a good time to make it happen. I've been keeping my iPad on the couch for the evenings and just having it there makes me feel better about creating. Even if I don't actually "make" anything. Playing around in ProCreate with the brushes feels good. I hope it works for you too!!
I love seeing how your navigating that time. I’d like to say you find your new normal, but in my parenting experience, every season brings something new that forces me to change my creative habits. That’s cool, cause I probably needed a refresher anyway lol. What a fun rollercoaster, and it’s always there for us when we come back!
I totally feel that. I'm so glad that I embraced learning to be a beginner again at things before I became a mom. It gives me so much more grace than if I were trying to be perfect at everything. It's definitely helped with all the mom stuff, and now that I'm figuring out the craft stuff again, I don't feel like I need to be perfect on the first go around.
Finding your new normal will just take awhile, and that’s ok. If it helps give you any perspective, my hubby and I adopted 4 little kids back in 2006…I had one preschooler, 2 toddlers, and a 5 month old baby. I think it took me about 5 years to find my new normal…🤪. I turned to digital scrapping since it took a few years to work out a space for me to do any traditional paper scrapping and unload all my boxes with paper crafting goodies.
I do Journal Your Christmas instead of December Daily, as it fits with my scrapping style better. I’ve done both traditional and digital albums for that project, based on my wants and needs on any given year. Last Christmas, I used the Zinnia app on my iPad to create a digital album, and it was fabulous! They have so many drop and drag backgrounds, as well as stickers, other embellishments, and word art. It took me only minutes to do my page for each day. You might consider it for your December Daily pages. You could easily make them while you are hanging out with Charlie while she plays. ♥️
Enjoy your time with Charlie as much as you can and keep taking copious quantities of pictures! Time goes by so fast, and before you know it, she’ll be grown and off on her own adventures. It’s true when people say the days are long, but the years are short. My youngest moved out on his own this last March! I cried like a baby when we dropped him off at his apartment and drove away!

I actually got my iPad out and charged it and the Apple Pencil over the weekend. I think that’s such a good idea to get some more creativity in!
