Today’s Color

Behind the Page

I love the color for today’s page — the page is definitely closer to this purple/blue-violet in the top photo, than the blue of the photo below.

Having a little space to document a tiny Thursday3 really pulls the whole page together. Also, I’m so obsessed with this new book series I’m reading — I can’t wait to finish Book 2, so that I can just go back and start Book 1 again.

Also, The Bear? It’s just on another level. I’ll finish up this season tonight and we can chat about it as soon as you’re ready!

Technique of the Day

The page looks a lot more blue in this photo — it’s just the way the light grabbed it. It’s funny how these single color pages are a lot more fickle when it comes to photography them.

Anyway — since I had a hard enough time looking for things during yesterday’s purple page, I sure as hell wasn’t going to attempt to find little bits that were blue-violet. So I pulled out my paints and started gel printing with some acrylic paint and stencils.

I wound up using one of the sheets of cardstock I cleaned off my brayer with — because it most accurately depicted what I think of as blue-violet. The brayer sheets usually wind up being some of my absolute favorites.

Reflections & Insights

Color Month is almost at a close — I’m so glad that we all had so much fun exploring the rainbow this month. We’ll absolutely be bringing Color Month back next year for Pride. It’s a great way to get in touch with your inner color lover!
