I am the worst at being a beginner. I am a perfectionist and I can’t stand not being good at something, so much so that I end up quitting before I start. I really like this article and it opened my eyes up to the good parts about being a beginner.

There are so many great things about being a beginner. It was a very hard mindset shift for me at first. But now, it’s like a secret cheat code.

TY for the affirmation, I’ve been struggling with gel prints on and off for months.

It legit took me two years (on and off) to feel like I even knew what I was doing. Don’t give up.

I really enjoyed this post with all the resources! Pushing past that initial phase of frustration is something I’m struggling to help my teenage son with! Thank you

It really really helps to reframe it as learning to be good at a beginner. Otherwise you feel like you already know all these other things; why isn’t this coming as easy as those do. I think it’s especially hard when we’re in those younger years and we see everyone else seemingly have an easier time (we now know they aren’t), but it’s so hard.

Oh I loved this. I'm a mantra person & one of my favourite mantras is that there is good learning in everything. You may have to wait to see it. I'm also a beginner who forgets that mantra.

I'm learning to play the piano. I read music, sing, play the recorder & clarinet so learning the piano will be easy. WRONG! It has been SO hard in the beginning because the voice in my head kept saying that I should be better than I was & I need to make faster progress.

I had not really applied being a learner to my art but oh goodness, it is so true. Really enjoying all the learning I am doing with you & I see that this is the newsletter so have answered my question on the podcast!
