Guest Project: Katie and the Right Now Art Journal Scrapbook Page
The following is a guest post from rukristin Creative Team member Katie. Today Katie is sharing a scrapbook layout/art journal hybrid page about her right-now life using the Currently List line of products and other great rukristin supplies.

Hey everyone, Katie here! I blog over at Punk Projects and am one of the new members of Kristin's Creative Team, which I am so super excited about!
For my first project as a rukristin Creative Team Member I made this little page all about where I'm at in my life right now. I think it's important to document more than just events, and to document what you like at this moment.

This page is a cross between a scrapbook layout and an art journal page. It has more of a scrapbook feel with patterned paper and vellum letters, but I've adhered it into my art journal.

I used a couple of different rukristin stamp sets on this page. I used stamps from the Currently List clear stamp set, and the Relationships clear stamp set.

I started by laying my photo out on my page, and then stamping designs around on the page. I liked the simple circle in the Currently clear stamp set. It's fun and is very eye catching. I also used the "Currently", "my story", "right now", "date" and label stamps. The Currently stamp set (and the idea of the currently list!) is perfect for documenting your right now.
I love markers and doodling, so I outlined all of the enamel dots and stickers I added to the page. Black outlines are my thing (however I just realized I missed outlining one of the stars, and it is bugging me).

I felt like my page needed more color to go with the black, so I matted my picture with my favorite color- Hot Pink! It's a patterned paper sheet from the It Factor 6" paper pad.
I colored in the outlines of the circle stamp designs with bright sharpie colors, inspired by the color palette of the It Factor paper pad.
Overall I'm extremely satisfied with how this page turned out. It is simple, yet is very... Me. Which is just what I was going for!

I used a tape runner to adhere it into my art journal, which is a hardback book (for the Get Messy Season of Words). I know Kristin, as found of the Currently list, is a huge promoter of documenting what you are currently doing and I love that. As someone who is single and doesn't have kids, all of my scrapbooks and documenting projects are all about me, travels, and the few people I am close to/love.
So now you know more about this girl, Katie. This is me, at 23.
